Empowered Women, Empower Women

empowered women, empower women

I've been blessed to be mentored by phenomenal women over my 50+ years. They have challenged, encouraged, stretched and at times held my "wandering" self accountable.  My mom always said you should have a diverse group of friends -- "Have friends in all ages & stages," that's how momma Kay would say it.  The interesting thing is they are not always older than me.

The past couple of years, I've been fortunate to meet and work with phenomenal, smart, industry leaders. And it's funny, as I get older the more "younger" friends I add to my core group.

Meet Kit. Besides being an all-star encourager who empowers everyone around her, she's an unbelievable talented photographer and business women.

I loved being included in Kit's birthday celebration! In Kitling fashion, she hosted and toasted her friends with delicious mimosas and brunch. So much I learn from this dear one.

Now, that is living with purpose!

I spent a lifetime hearing, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."   I recognize there are many ways dignity is woven into our day to day lives, but I truly believe work can and does play a huge role by providing ongoing dignity through provision and purpose.

From the beginning of time, provision for families and communities happened because of work. Work leads to dignity, protection, and provision.  Global Purpose aligns with organizations and companies that strive to provide work that not only impacts the individual but the community. Get to know International Justice Mission, Help One Now, Village Artisan. They are all making a difference in the lives of others.  Now, that is living with purpose!

Investing in others

Today my Mom and two of my best friends gave me a giant long distant hug.  They ran all over Temple, Tx and Belton, Tx to find our new Global Purpose Giving Bag. They took lots of pictures, engaging everyone they met.  I think it started as a lunch date, but I know the truth. I know the truth (wink wink) it was about seeing and supporting me. Relationships matter!!! Feeling loved.

My mom would go to every HEB up and down I-35 to support our goal to make a difference in the lives of others. She made a lunch date out of shopping with purpose. I love that she loves my friends and they love her back.

My dear friends invested time (and money) to stop by HEB in Temple, Tx and Belton Tx to support Jon and me. It's crazy to reflect on the many mentors and friends that have given time and resources to make us successful. THANK YOU, Dear Friends! Oh, did I mention one lives in Portland. Talk about a road trip.

Buy with intent

People ask, "Why Global Purpose?"  People matter, you matter.  And believe it or not, your purchases matter.  A simple purchase can impact in a BIG way. Our "Giving Bag" was created to support education with a little Global Purpose twist.  We are committed to dignity through work. That led Global Purpose to come alongside Help One Now, Classroom. Teachers deserve this same dignity. In many places, they work without pay, support & resources. Help One Classroom funds classrooms in Haiti and Uganda.

A simple Back to School teacher gift supports 60 clasrooms in Uganda & Haiti.

Keep making a difference,

Kaylynn
